"...And this was a vase that sealed a powerful medium's soul a long, long time ago. Master Da-Xia said it might be as old as the time where mediums became a thing!" Suki spoke excitedly, holding a small ceramic vase in her hands.
"R-Really? Lemme touch it!" The child-like voice belonged to Abyss. A young Axolotl that hailed from a underwater city in a lake not far from the village Suki lived in. If one took a brief glance at her eyes, they would realize the child was blind. Hence her previous request, Suki didn't hesitate to oblige. She walked over to where Abyss sat put, gently taking the child's hands and placing them on the artifact. Abyss slowly dragged her hands across it's surface, her eyes brightening up as she let out a giggle. "It feels so fragile, are you sure it can contain something as strong as a spirit? Seems like it can easily break out of it to me!" Abyss stated with a small frown, nudging the vase back into Suki's hands. Suki gently laughed in response.
"Well, it's seems to be if it survived all those previous centuries."
Carefully rubbing a cloth into the vase's surface, she made sure she didn't miss a spot before she got up, walking back towards the display the vase called home. Suki stepped up on her toes, placing it back on the self.
It was cleaning day back in the temple, usually Suki would've handled it on her own, but Abyss was eager to help when she overheard Da-Xia politely remind Suki of her duties. Suki welcomed the company, considering her boyfriend was out of town on other EX Gear tourney, and she felt a tinges of loneliness whenever she noticed the lack of his presence in their home.
"I think we're done here! Good job Abyss!" She smiled, turning back to her companion, "Let's get you back home before it gets too dark."
"Okay!" Abyss held out her hand, before her feelers twitched and her expression changed to one of concern. Suki immediately took notice.
"Is something wrong?" She asked, concerned.
"Somethings coming this way!" Abyss shouted, standing up anxiously.
